About the Bursary Provider

The Alfred Nzo District Municipality (ANDM) is one of South Africa's leading government institutions, located in the Eastern Cape Province. Named after Alfred Bathini Nzo, a respected anti-apartheid leader and the first Secretary-General of the African National Congress, the municipality is committed to addressing socio-economic challenges and promoting sustainable development in the region.

ANDM provides essential services such as water supply, sanitation, infrastructure development, and local governance to communities within its jurisdiction, which includes Mount Ayliff, Matatiele, Mbizana, and Ntabankulu. Understanding the critical role education plays in empowering youth and reducing poverty, the Alfred Nzo District Municipality established its bursary programme to nurture talent and enable young individuals to achieve academic and career success.

About the Bursary Programme

The Alfred Nzo District Municipality Bursary Programme aims to provide financial assistance to deserving students who demonstrate academic potential but lack the resources to pursue higher education. This initiative aligns with the municipality's vision of fostering socio-economic development by equipping young people with the skills and qualifications needed for professional growth and community upliftment.

The programme targets students pursuing studies in fields critical to the municipality’s operations and service delivery, thereby ensuring the creation of a skilled workforce that can address local challenges effectively. By doing so, ANDM contributes to building a brighter and more sustainable future for the Eastern Cape Province and the nation as a whole.
