Prospective students who want to study tertiary education in 2024 can apply for funding through the Ikusasa Student Financial Aid Programme. The application period is open right now. Ikusasa Student Financial Aid Programme is a bursary program that was established as a pilot project to address the problem of missing-middle student who could not meet NSFAS funding requirements. The ISFAP website is the only place to submit applications for the bursary. ISFAP is a funding organization that only supports first-time graduates. Their main goal is to make sure that as many students as possible graduate from tertiary education.

Eligibility Requirements for the ISFAP BURSARY

Before applying, applicants must meet the minimum entry requirements. Please note that you will not be accepted if you do not satisfy all requirements.

(Also note that not having the required documents could result in your application being rejected)

  1. 1.      .You must be a South African citizen
  1. 2 ,     . Matriculation must be completed or in the process of being completed
  1. 3.       You must be registered in one of these universities in order to be awarded the bursary

University of Johannesburg, University of Pretoria, University of Witwatersrand, University of Cape Town, Stellenbosch University, University KwaZulu-Natal, Nelson Mandela University, Walter Sisulu University, University of Venda, Tshwane University of Technology, Central University of Technology.

4.Your first degree must start in the academic year 2025.

5.Your family must not have more than R600 000 in household income per annum

6.You must not have financial means and in need of funding to pay for your education.

7.You cannot be receiving any other funding for study (including NSFAS).

What funding mechanisms are available?

Each student will be provided with enough funding to cover tuition, accommodation, and travel costs. The bursary is a full bursary that covers all necessary costs. The Universities will also provide academic support, support for life skills training, and medical assistance when needed.
