The Allan Gray Orbis Foundation Bursaries for 2025

Expenses Covered by the Bursary
The Allan Gray Orbis Foundation Bursaries provide

- Full funding for applicants whose combined annual
household income is R1 million (R1 000 000.00) or below.
- Needs-based funding for applicants with a combined annual
household income exceeding R1 million (R1 000 000.00).

Requirements and Eligibility
Before submitting your application, it's important to ensure
that you meet the minimum entry requirements outlined below. Failure to fulfil
any of these criteria will result in your application being ineligible for
consideration:
1.Educational Status: You must currently be enrolled
in Matric for the academic year 2024.
2. Age Requirement: As of 2024, your age should not
exceed 21 years old.
3. Academic Achievement: You need to have attained a
minimum of 60% in Mathematics or 80% in Mathematical Literacy in your Grade 11
final examination results. Additionally, your overall average for Grade 11
results (excluding Life Orientation) should be at least 70%
4. Educational Intentions: You should have plans to
pursue a degree qualification in one of the specified fields of study in the
year 2025
5. Citizenship: You must hold citizenship in South
Africa.
6. Choice of Universities: An aspiration to pursue a
degree in Commerce, Science, Engineering, Law, Humanities, Arts, or Health
Science (excluding Medicine, Veterinary Science, and Dentistry) at University
of the Witwatersrand, University of Johannesburg, University of Cape Town, Nelson
Mandela University, Rhodes University, University of the Western Cape, Stellenbosch
University, University of Pretoria , University of the Free State, University
of KwaZulu-Natal , and TSiBA.
7. Entrepreneurial Drive: You must demonstrate a
strong entrepreneurial inclination and passion.
8. Commitment to South Africa: It's essential that
you hold a belief in the future prospects of South Africa.

will not be considered, so prospective applicants are encouraged to adhere to

Candidates who are successful in their application will
receive invitations for interviews scheduled for July 2024. Those who
successfully pass the interview stage will then be invited to attend a
selection camp in September 2024.
