Eligibility Criteria:

·         Be a South African Citizen

·         Possess a National Senior Certificate (NSC) or equivalent qualification (NCV Level 4)

·         Have no criminal record or pending cases

·         Be unemployed with no prior experience in the field you're applying for (including previous internships)

·         Reside in the province where the internship is advertised (restrictions may apply)

·         Submit a completed application form along with a CV, ID document, Senior Certificate, and certified copies of all other qualifications.

Internship opportunities are divided into two categories, each with specific eligibility criteria:

Graduate Intern:

Applicants must hold a tertiary qualification. A Statement of Results must be provided as evidence. This category is suitable for recent graduates seeking practical experience to complement their academic background.

Student Intern:

Candidates in this category should have practical experience mandated by their tertiary institution to complete their qualification. A letter from the institution, not exceeding two years old, must accompany the application. It's important to note that the stipend for Student Interns will be determined by the Divisional Commissioner of Human Resource Development at the South African Police Service (SAPS).

Things to note:

·         The official Application Form for the Graduate Recruitment Scheme (Click here to download the application form.) is the sole accepted method of application. Failure to adhere to all instructions on the application form may result in rejection.

·         Correctly specify the post particulars and reference number on the Application Form.

·         Include an updated Curriculum Vitae with your application.

·         Attach uncertified copies of your ID document, National Senior Certificate, and all post-school educational qualifications with their respective statements of results.

·         Applications submitted via fax or email will not be considered.

·         Ensure timely submission of applications via post or hand-delivery; late submissions will not be accepted.

·         Fingerprint screening will be conducted for all short-listed candidates.

·         Short-listed candidates will undergo personal interviews and may be subject to vetting.

·         Correspondence will be conducted only with successful candidates. If you haven't been contacted within 3 months after the application deadline, consider your application unsuccessful.

·         The SAPS is under no obligation to fill a post after advertising it.

·         Successful candidates must sign a 12-month Internship Contract.

·         Participation in the Graduate Recruitment Scheme does not guarantee automatic absorption for permanent appointment within the SAPS.
