- At least 70% in English First Additional Language or 65% in English Home Language
- An overall average of 60% or above across all subjects

First-year university students must:
- Be registered in a relevant degree field
- Have achieved a minimum of 60% in all subjects in their first semester of university

Note: Only applications from public universities in South Africa will be considered. Bursaries will not be awarded for studies at private tertiary institutions.

2. Grade 12 June results / Matric results (or final report if already matriculated)
3. Latest university results (for first-year students)
4. Parent(s)/guardian(s) proof of income:

5. Death certificate(s) if parent(s) are deceased
