Students are expected to follow strict residence rules, and an academic study program is incorporated into the residency. This structured environment has resulted in excellent academic outcomes, with many residents achieving high certification rates and overall success. Consequently, residence spaces are in high demand.

Students are housed in dormitory-style facilities, each provided with a bed. Shared amenities include dining areas, study spaces, and washrooms.

Bursaries

West Coast College offers financial aid by assisting students with bursary applications to various institutions and agencies. While there are numerous companies, agencies, and organizations that provide financial support, the primary source for TVET college students is the National Department of Education bursary fund, managed by the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS). Students can apply for bursaries (financial aid) directly through NSFAS and also through West Coast College. The college provides assistance through a Student Support Officer (SSO) and a Bursary Clerk to help with the application process. Additionally, West Coast College has its own bursary fund to supplement existing bursaries. Both full-time and part-time students are eligible to apply for a college bursary.

 DHET Bursary Available for 2024

The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) is a government-funded program that provides financial aid to undergraduate students to help cover the costs of tertiary education. Funded by the Department of Higher Education and Training, NSFAS allows students to apply for financial assistance directly through the MYNSFAS Student Portal. It's important to note that the approval and payment processes are managed by NSFAS, not the college, and all correspondence is handled directly through NSFAS. As of now, applications for the 2024 cycle are not yet open.
